The Short Version

Horses, houses, and a laser engraver — welcome to my resume. I've ridden horses most of my life, spent years in real estate learning exactly which parts of the job I'm built for, and started a business making custom signs and gifts because apparently one company wasn't enough. Copper Gate Co. is where all of that lands: the discipline of the arena and the precision of a well-run transaction, minus the guesswork.

In the Saddle

I've been on a horse since before I could reliably tie my own shoes — gymkhana, English, you name it, I've probably tried it. These days it's stock horse versatility, which is exactly what it sounds like: no picking a lane, just being good at all of them. I took a long break from showing and came back to it in 2021, and if you've ever tried to get back into a sport after years off, you know it takes a specific kind of stubborn. I have that in spades.

What versatility competition actually teaches you — beyond how to stay on — is composure under a judge's eye, precision when it counts, and the discipline to prep for months for a run that takes minutes. That's not a metaphor I'm reaching for. That's just also, unfortunately, my personality now.

From Contracts to Closings

I got my real estate license in August 2019, right after walking away from a career in banking. What I learned over the next several years is that I am excellent at the back end of a transaction — the contracts, the deadlines, the fifteen moving parts that all have to land in the right order — and considerably less enthusiastic about the front end. Cold-prospecting for clients and playing "guess the market" with buyers was never where my energy wanted to go, and I let my license lapse at the end of 2025 to make that official.

But somewhere in those years I figured out what I actually love: being the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks. Turns out that's a whole business.

Also, I Laser-Engrave Things

In 2022, I also started Beam Your Brand, a laser-engraving business making custom signs, drinkware, and branded décor. It's the creative, hands-on counterpart to everything else I do — proof that I like building things whether the medium is acrylic, wood, or a well-organized closing timeline. If precision and follow-through are my whole thing, Beam Your Brand is where that gets to look pretty.
